Something Visionary this way comes. New releases. Reflections, teasers and a new Puppy.

Before you read about Visionary Fiction, let me tell you of my journey to find a genre. One of the first things writers and publishers ask and ask each other is: "What genre do you write?" For me, having read many genre and having written stubbornly the same way all my life, answering that question was tough if not impossible. It was, to me and others, a little this and a little that, but still different than the usual representations of each genre. The way I wrote was speculative, but had elements of Sci-fi and fantasy. It had romance and I didn't shy away from sexual content or troubling historical subjects. I incorporated the paranormal and included religious influence from a number of religious traditions without praising or condemning or preaching. It was mystical in content but focused on the growth of a character through a story.
It wasn't heroes journey as much as character journey. When there were multiple characters none were wholly good or bad and all were realistically flawed. I'd heard of Visionary Fiction, but though my writing wasn't exactly a good fit there, because I felt neither wise not willing to preach any sort of New Age gospel. I came in wearing a different hat. I base my stories on dreams and meditations, but stepping beyond that, my dreams have always been part lucid, part prophecy, part vision, and part time travel or remote viewing of different times and places. That was a bit tough when I entered a writer's group to have the moderator ask me about the protagonist and what was the arc or theme of the "journey". Most of the time I didn't know because I "channeled" from perhaps the spirit world or at least hidden recesses of my own mind and really didn't know yet. My stories evolve, meet cliffhangers, smack into walls and wait for rescue and redemption. Your favorite character will turn and make you mad enough to stop reading for a while until curiosity gets the better of you. Early critics either didn't "get" the story, or couldn't relate to the struggle - or found the going slow and needful of a quiet place to digest. They weren't fast or light. They made you think. But once you entered the world ... Currently, my writing journey is to make the stories more readable. But to explain... I rean into the very founders of the official genre and they have a presence on the internet. Let them and Wiki explain what my rambles may have missed.
Visionary Fiction Alliance

What is Visionary Fiction? Visionary Fiction embraces spiritual and esoteric wisdom, often from ancient sources, and makes it relevant for our modern life. These gems of wisdom are brought forth in story form and in a way that readers can experience the wisdom from within themselves. It emphasizes and envisions humanity’s transition into evolved consciousness. While there is a strong theme, it in no way proselytizes or preaches. Visionary is a tone as well as a genre. The ‘visionary’ element can technically be present in any genre and set in any time. Characteristics of Visionary Fiction: Growth of consciousness is the central theme of the story and drives the protagonist, and/or other important characters. Oftentimes VF uses reincarnation, dreams, visions, paranormal, psychic abilities, and other metaphysical plot devices. VF is universal in its worldview and scope. In short, the emphasis is on our limitless human potential, where transformation and evolution are entirely possible. “Visionary Fiction speaks the language of the soul. It offers a vision of humanity as we dream it could be.” ~ Jodine Turner

From the website:

The Visionary Fiction Alliance began as a web-ring. Three authors of visionary novels, Jodine Turner, Saleena Karim, and Shannan Sinclair met at the Goodreads Visionary Fiction Group in March 2012 and decided to link up to each other’s blogs as a way of promoting each other and visionary fiction itself. Other writers joined the conversation and asked to be part of the ring; and soon there were twelve authors, who decided to create a space where they could work together to promote VF.

And so, the Visionary Fiction Alliance was born, with this site going live on August 17, 2012. Since then many other authors, from seasoned veterans to developing novices, have joined our ranks. As the world evolves away from the Newtonian model of the five senses to the more evolved quantum model that includes the sense of spirit so resurgent today, Visionary Fiction is rapidly becoming the genre of choice to express that evolution and predict the breath-taking future that might follow the anticipated leaps.

Under its broader umbrella are now gathering works previously classified as spiritual, metaphysical, or science fiction. The VFA aims to provide a home base and central clearing house for readers, writers, and researchers dedicated to this endeavor.

Our purposes are to:

1. Increase awareness of the genre

2. Help readers discover, explore, and enjoy Visionary Fiction

3. Mentor new writers who wish to explore this genre

4. Provide resources for writers of Visionary Fiction

5. Be a place where readers can find Visionary Fiction books and engage in discussion with the authors.

Another group I hang out with is Wanda Robert's group of writers and Readers: Writer's Rock!

Wanda L. Roberts was born in Milford, Connecticut on December 4, 1960. She juggles a full-time job in the medical field, and writing wonderful children's books. Wanda also is the Founder of The Writers Rock groups which she created to help aspiring writers develop their writing skills and provide them the necessary resources in their writing journey, including a platform to market their books.

It started out as a local project, but has expanded internationally to twenty nine countries. This became her non-profit organization and consists of aspiring writers to International best sellers. In the future she plans to hold book tours and various events to help them market their books.

You can find her organization on

Her inspiration came when the beginning of the pandemic happened and gave parents no option, but to become teachers. Therefore, Wanda felt it was important to give parents a break, and offer them some reading time for their children. She set up daily reading time with the children's book authors to read their books aloud. After the series of Children's books authors finished, Wanda received her calling to write her own children's books. It all just seemed to mold together within a few days, until she had all eight stories written for her series.

Her books are for ages 3-5 years old and are available in eBook and paperback. They include life lessons and have fun activities in the back. Her first book was released June 20, 2020. She plans to publish all eight books by Christmas and continue writing children's books.

Her book series can be found on Amazon. She received her first 5 star review a few days after her release date. Wanda's books are fun and educational. Her fantastic books are based on her real-life dogs who were raised, and rescued by her son. Wanda also has a passion to help children succeed. She has been a volunteer Court Appointed Advocate for fifteen years for neglected and abused children, and recently became inactive due to her demanding medical profession. Wanda received the Presidential Volunteer Award for her dedication to improving children's lives.

Would you like to buy an autographed copy? As you know, I recently moved. In one corner of my new office there's a bookcase of stock where you can purchase at lower than Amazon prices one or more of my books and two anthologies in which I (and my son Thom) have stories. Missing is a group of two Ghostly Rites Anthologies which I never got around to ordering. I'll be fixing that problem soon! When you buy directly from me, I autograph the book and include a handmade bookmark. SUCH A DEAL Message me on Facebook or through my email at
